It’s things like this that make me miss home…
From WZARTV:
New Hanover Police had a different kind of pursuit on their hands this morning. This is just after two heifers were lured with some food and contained in an area behind New Hanover Lutheran Church. The cows broke free from their field this morning and navigated along Swamp Picnic road roaming through fields. The animals then made it onto the courses at Gilbertsville Golf Club and were then chased onto the grounds at the church.
The cow wranglers’ main goal was to prevent the animals from getting onto nearby busy roads. But just when things seemed under control, until the cows broke loose yet again.
Unfortunately the cows’ owner had died just weeks before, so police and township workers called in family with a trailer to help out. They then moseyed their way into the trailer and on back home.
Port and Starboard are their names, and said one officer who was unable to speak on camera, “The cows covered a lot of distance.”
