Well, here’s my first thing…
I’m asking you to watch this video because I care. I care about the quality of the food you’re putting into your body and the way it may affect your health.
When I first wrote up this post I also had a few paragraphs in here outlining the many other reasons WHY I care, but I think after you watch Robyn O’Brien’s presentation it will become crystal clear.
What I will offer instead is this – a gentle reminder of the power of your pocketbook. Use it as a mechanism of protest, demonstration of your freedom of choice and as a way to actively take control of your health. Vote with your wallet. Do not buy inferior products containing genetically modified ingredients. Do not allow yourself to be a test subject for the latest batch of insecticide laced corn. Support local farmers and organic companies that are doing what’s right, not because it is turning a profit, but because they, too, care about your health.
Please take 20 minutes right now to watch Robyn share what she has uncovered regarding the safety of our food supply, I can assure you it will be time well spent.
Information below from TedX:
Robyn shares her personal story and how it inspired her current path as a “Real Food” evangelist. Grounded in a successful Wall Street career that was more interested in food as good business than good-for-you, this mother of four was shaken awake by the dangerous allergic reaction of one of her children to a “typical” breakfast. Her mission to unearth the cause revealed more about the food industry than she could stomach, and impelled her to share her findings with others. Informative and inspiring.
Real food, is that too much to ask;
Big industry, I take to task;
It’s time that we reclaim our plates;
from food forced into altered states.
