Helen Franklin: Marijuana Mama
We can all sleep a bit more soundly this evening knowing that one of Memphis’ biggest and baddest criminals is doing some well-deserved time.
According to My Fox Memphis:
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A North Memphis grandmother was arrested on drug charges after police found potted marijuana plants outside her home.
Memphis Police spotted the four plants Wednesday outside the home of 65-year old Helen Franklin while searching for a suspect in the area.
When officers went to her door to ask if she was aware of what kind of plants they were, she replied, “Yes, reefer. I planted it.”
Franklin was charged with Manufacturing Marijuana and is currently being held on $5,000 bond at the Shelby County Jail.
On my next cross country drive I will feel a bit safer knowing that this terrorist isn’t in her house giggling at afternoon soaps while munching on a bag of Cheese Nips. Thank you to the brave officers who managed to take down this dangerous criminal without using violence or weapons. I am sure it must have been a difficult arrest, but kudos to you for winning another battle in the drug war. I can not even imagine the amount of man hours it must have taken to fully dispose of those 4 extremely toxic plants that were growing outside of her home. I am sure the suspect you were initially trying to pursue was just a benign pedophile or murderer – you’ll get him next time.
I bet while this dope-smoking, law breaker is sitting in her cell she is concocting some sort medical “excuse” as to why she needed to grow the marijuana. I hear all kinds of people these days saying that cannabis helps them with their migraines, appetite, pain – I’ve even heard cancer patients claim it alleviates their nausea from chemotherapy. What a bunch of crap. Who does this lady think she is? Why should she be able to grow her own “medicine”? She needs to get with the program and jump on the bandwagon with the rest of us and commit herself to going into debt to pay the pharmaceutical companies for drugs. These prescription medications come with a much higher cost, more side effects and a lot more danger. Plus, she can help her prescribing physician out when he gets his yearly kickbacks for all the name brand Rx’s his patients fill.
Yay for the War on Drugs!
the legal system and laws which humans submit to are not natural and therefore should only affect the unnatural world.
nature has its own laws and needs no help from man’s weak little mind regarding the subject…no man made law should ever have jurisdiction over the natural world…we are muppets to allow anyone to tell us otherwise.

Yea…what a load of crap. It’s much better to spend your hard-earned dollars on chemicals which destroy your liver and/or damage your mental health than alleviate discomfort, whether psychological or physical, naturally. Bloodshot eyes and increased appetite sounds scary! I know I would much rather damage my short term memory with narcotic pain killers.
It’s not about what’s better for us, it’s about what’s better for them.
So did they just stop looking for the real criminal after they found this “outlaw”?
