John Francis – I Walk the Earth
In case you have yet to see the note printed on the yellow paper, Butterfinger, as of his birthday at the end of last month, has ceased all verbal communications. While I now feel confident we could win any game of charades, these past few weeks have been quite trying. GTalk has become the preferred method of communication, with notepad and the phone a close second. I hope Butterfinger can find the answers he is looking for during this interlude of silence, because I have already grown a new appreciation for the ability to speak.
On a somewhat related note, Butterfinger sent me a link to this TED talk the other day from John Francis. If I had to summarize John Francis in a few words it would be this – silent, planet nomad, banjo, and environmental activist. When you have a free 20 minutes this weekend be sure to take some time to listen to him, especially if you consider yourself to be an activist or environmentally-minded person yourself.
