And no, I am not referencing Woodrow Wilson, although I could make a solid argument showing that he may very well have been the worst president. But in case it does actually matter come November, you can bet your bottom, or maybe even very last judging by the way the economy is going, dollar I will not be pushing a button anywhere even remotely close to the name of any individual whom GW has spoken fondly of in the past; be that recently, decades ago, or in past lives. I would rather ‘throw my vote away’ (that said under the assumption that it does not already happen anyway via the Diebold trashcans) and vote for Spongebob Squarepants than show allegiance toward someone with the same agenda as our current esteemed leader.
I am not really sure how much good taking this stance is actually going to do, considering the millions of Americans that apparently like Bush and voted for him, not once, but (gasp) twice. Even more discouraging is the fact that, according to telephone polls, McCain is in the lead in the by 3-5%. Who are they calling for these phone polls, anyway? I sure as hell have never gotten a call… Anyone?? And even if they somehow are calling people like me, what are the odds that cynics and otherwise sarcastic persons like myself would actually subject themselves to seemingly senseless political questioning, not mention how many of them would truthfully answering the skull numbing prompts in lieu of totally skewing their results. I digress…
The point I am trying to get across is simple – if you can not trust the leader of the gang, what makes you think you can trust one of his cronies? If a man you have no faith in, with an atrocious track record of economic downturn, job loss, and war profiteering, tells you who they would like to see as the next president, wouldn’t you think the intelligent thing to do would be to run the other way? I would not even trust GW with a pair of safety scissors, much less give his opinion any sort of weight in the future of our ailing country. I can feel my blood pressure starting to rise – I will end the rant now. If you want to find me in the next few hours I will be out front listening to Forrest Gump recordings and practicing my run-ning.
