We Did It!

Thanks to everyone that signed the petition, “Make Verizon Accountable – Can They Hear Us Now?”, regarding Verizon’s offensive anti-Pit Bull advertisement.  The petition received over 5,000 signatures and was closed this morning by the petition author, R. Brace and the ASPCA online community.  This was the message sent by R. Brace to all of the petition signers:

I have just spoken with  Steve Schwartzman, Executive Coordinator [of Verizon], who told me that the offensive ad has been pulled in all markets. Thank you to all who signed this petition and made the calls! Mr. Schwartzman was very understanding of our feelings, and admitted that they have received quite a bit of heat over this commercial.

Each and every one of you made the difference.

We did it!  Thank you so much to everyone for getting behind this cause and calling for action!  And thank you to Verizon for standing up, admitting their mistake, and taking steps to rectify the problem.  Today is a big day for the pitties:)
