We Are What We Do

I found a great website yesterday through Bzz Agent’s Frogpond that I really think everyone should spend some time exploring.  It’s called We Are What We Do, and the site focuses on bringing attention to the way our small actions affect our world and the way we live. You can sign up for a profile on the site to keep track of all the positive “actions” you have done, and also use it to connect with people in your area to organize bigger events for your community.

We Are What We Do wants to make it clear that people are aware that they are not a charity or institution, but instead a movement to inspire people to use their everyday actions to create positive change within the world. We Are What We Do focuses on the simple things we can do to make change, bringing attention to daily actions we may consider trivial like smiling at a stranger, recycling books, shopping locally, hugging, and using both sides of a piece of paper. They have compiled a list of 100, simple, everyday things we can do to improve our lives on this planet, and I hope some of you will join me in checking off all of the items on the list:)

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.  We all really need to step up and do what we can to make this reality as pleasant as possible for one another, and I think this is a realistic way for us to achieve that goal together.  I mean, really, what person could not find time in their day to pick up a piece of litter on the sidewalk or watch less TV?? So if you have some free time at work or need a site to peruse during your lunch break, Visit We Are What We Do and sign up for a free profile – you will not be sorry:)
