The Aftermath

Much to my dismay, I dropped off my two little Hershey Kisses at the airport this morning. Just a word to the wise – 6 am flights are never a good idea, especially on a Wednesday morning following a Taco Tuesday outing that lasts into sunrise. The ride back from the airport was lonely, and all I wanted to do was get some rest upon my return to my humble abode. No sooner had I walked in the door in my exhausted and disheveled state, did I remember the reason why I had not laid down in my bed for those few hours before their departure in the first place – my room smelled like a campfire.

Bonfires have really grown on me over the past few years living out in California. I enjoy heading to the beach for a night of Smore making, and back yard parties featuring primitive flames. What I do not enjoy, however, is when a roommate decides to have his own personal fire session in the backyard and neglects to close the large, sliding door into my room, thus deeming my room uninhabitable and forcing me to catch some morning zzz’s on a recliner. I tried to deal with the stench for the first 15 minutes after my arrival home, but my chest was so tight and wheezing unbearable that I had to move my location to the office recliner.

Needless to say I am not in my best and brightest state at this present point in time. Sleep deprived and frustrated, I just got finished dealing with the aftermath of a week of best friend visitors, taking care of those useless tasks like doing wash, cleaning dishes, and making the house presentable, which ranked in the bottom 100 of things to do at this same time last week. My plan is to lay low for awhile, this month has been a whirlwind between the wedding and visitors, not to mention the fact that I am still Butterfinger-less as he is still in Pennsylvania helping out family/friends. So, do not be surprised if you don’t see me out and about at all this month, I am going to be focusing on writing, exercising, and just becoming a better person in general. Lucky for you all, that means a blog post a day:)
