O.G.

I have been called a lot of things in my day – eccentric, sarcastic, embarassing – but until today, I had never been referred to as an O.G., or original gangsta for those of you unfamiliar with terminology usually associated with inner city rhymes. In much the same way rapper T.I. says, “I keep it real on the streets, I’m a real O.G.”, I too keep it real, on the blog-o-sphere. I am not claiming to be some sort of Biggie or Tupac, blogging was around way before I was introduced to the scene, but it is pleasing to think that I may have inspired some of my friends and readers to create blogs of their own. If you will refer to the bottom of the middle column on this page, you will see many of my writing friends, and I encourage you to add their pages to your bookmarks.

I have never really thought about it before, but I guess we could be considered a bloggang. I still need to consult with the other members of this literary mafia, but I was thinking that maybe our group could be called skullfacetooth, and perhaps we could have a special snap bracelet or fanny pack to recognize our other members out in the public? I think that each month we should have a different leader that does some link building and commenting to get us more well-known across the internets. The leader could drink out of a special cranium shaped chalice while completing the various tasks associated with gaining website exposure, sounds fun, right?!

So the next time my page is boring you, head to my blogroll and check out someone new! First on the list is sovator.org, which features mirthful posts from an aspiring writer living in LA; he has been working on completing his first screenplay and shares the trials and tribulations associated with maintaining a full time job and chasing his dreams. Next on the list is awesometown.net, a great site to keep handy for any graphic or web design needs that may come up; click the link to check out examples of Jeff’s work. Here We Are was started by my favorite bride-to-be; she reveals the magic behind balancing family, school and work – and pulls it off quite beautifully. Kate’s site, dedicated to animal rescue, is the preemie of the bunch, and I look forward to keeping up with her experiences at the Main Line Animal Rescue.

For a different perspective on politics and skittles, check out Chadyo’s site – the post “In Defense of Food” is a must read, and will make you think twice before gobbling down that next Quarter Pounder with Cheese. OMFGNinja is an internet friend of mine through sovator, and this guy is pretty much a video game professional; lots of video clips of people getting owned. SaveBreasts is a project currently in the works, be sure to keep checking back for updates, because breasts are worth saving. The Ethan Show focuses on news and politics; it is geared to be an accompaniment to my friend Ethan’s radio show, which airs during the academic year at East Stroudsburg University – intelligent and thought-provoking, the site is not exactly a haven for liberals (you were warned:). Last, but not least, is Tobias Paine, which appears to have not been updated and abandoned? Hmm… I will have to get back to you on that one, please skip it for now.

Hopefully more friends to be added later… That should keep you busy for now!

I fully support your ideas for our bloggang, and I am quite excited to be the newbie of Skullfacetooth.

I should jump on this blogging phenomenon. first I have to learn more about this internet business and find a point to write a blog about… I am, however, learning internet lingo such as: OMG, LOL and BRB. I’m on my way.
