I am getting ready to head back to Pennsylvania for the weekend to attend a wedding, and one of the most important things I need to remember to bring along with me is my buddy Franklin. You see, Franklin is what is called EVDO or Mobile Broadband, and his little USB dongle body is capable of providing me with high speed internet anywhere you have a cell phone signal. His sleek figure is about 2 inches tall and 1 inch wide, and he glides into my computer’s USB port with the greatest of ease. He is always ready, willing, and eager to check my email no matter what the terrain, or help me to update my blog in the middle of Tennessee.
Franklin has already been on quite a cross country journey via Eurovan, and he helped us find roadside attractions, check the status of our websites, and keep in touch with family/friends while we were careening through the countryside. Yes, we had our troubles, like the no service area that blanketed New Mexico, but without you we would have never been able to eat a delicious breakfast at Perkins or been warned about the adverse ice conditions in Arkansas. Now it is time for us to take a trip in the other direction, with the jet stream, utilizing an altogether different mode of transportation.
Tomorrow, Franklin, we will laugh at the people paying to use the pis poor internet offered by the airport, and we will open all sorts of complex web applications while I enjoy my lunch at San Diego’s finest Karl Strauss Brew Pub. We will discretely test your skills at differing altitudes, and I shall show you off to the curious person stuck in the middle seat. While we wait for the rest of the members of our party bus to arrive in PHL we shall compose emails and check our Craigslist items. It will be a glorious day for us, my friend, so sleep well, for tomorrow we have a lot of miles to traverse and minds to blow, I certainly hope you are up for it!

Party bus? Good luck with that…
