Always Save

Butterfinger has warned me a million times to make sure that I am saving things as I am writing them, especially since the majority of my time lately has been spent writing content for the blogs or the startup. While I can with 100% confidence say that I always listen to what he tells me, the percentage of what is actually put into practice is ashamedly much lower, and today, that statistic bit me in the ass. I spent all morning researching and writing up an article for my timeshare site about the different characteristics of a particular resort and its surrounding entertainment/dining areas. When I was finished the content of the article I decided to check another site, and as soon as I opened the new tab, Firefox locked up, restarted, and erased everything I had spent the last 2 hours writing.

Now I am faced with the prospect of re-writing the entire post again, and while it should go a lot quicker now that I know where to find all of the information (Firefox was kind enough to remember what tabs I had open when the breakdown occurred), I am quite displeased to say the least. I am embarrassed that I made such a newbie blogging error, ashamed that I could not remember to press a simple key to save the post, and infuriated that word press has not yet become intelligent enough to auto save text as it is entered. The worst part of it all is that this entire situation could have completely been avoided if I did not feel the urge to check out a completely unrelated, time-wasting, brain denaturing black hole within the world wide web. And perhaps saddest yet, I will not be receiving any sympathy from Butterfinger, but as we say, everything happens for a reason… Maybe the article just was not all that good??
