My engagement as a startup fiancee began one year ago when my startup fiance decided to quit his 90k a year job become an internet entrepreneur. I honestly do not remember there being much discourse about this choice, in fact, I recall that the timing was perfect and there were no reasons for him NOT to work for himself. Fueled with the now-or-never spirit, Butterfinger happily refused a raise and a position with less responsibility and I was behind him all the way. What did I care anyway? I was 23, just out of college, new to the west coast, getting settled in my field, in love with television, and partying every weekend. We were going to be fine! We were in love, had a couple roommates to help with the mortgage, some money saved up, three silly dogs to diffuse tense situations, and we knew it was going to work.
Butterfinger and I celebrated his newfound entrepreneurship by taking a summer vacation with my family on the east coast and drinking. Then there was more drinking, some family visited us from the east coast, then came supreme inebriation. You too can make your own entrepreneurial first month cocktail with 50 cases Bud Light, 5 pounds of sand, and one arrest for starting a fight with a meat head monkey bouncing parked car to parked car, beating the naughty automobiles with palm tree swords. Maybe all the sauce was to escape the reality of lost income with twice the work, or maybe it was just a really hot summer, its all a blur to me now.
A lot has changed for us in the past year, Butterfinger has made the transition from wannabe entrepreneur to startup founder and I used to type people’s names instead of candy bar aliases. My plan is to post events from the past as I remember them and keep you updated on the current situation. Hopefully I can make you chuckle a little bit, I know I get a good laugh at us a lot of the time. Enjoy:)
is there some kind of Table of Contents for this thing?
how do you read it in order?
dear rambo,
your request has been noted and a solution has been provided as per your request.
please find the recent posts by date section directly beneath the search input box. you can peruse by week or month at your leisure hopefully without getting lost in the process (remember you always have a compass on the bottom of your knife if you need it).
as always, thank you for your military vigilance and excellence.
p.s. looking forward to your latest silver screen production.
I would love to hear about the fight with a meat head monkey bouncing from car to car and beating them with palm tree swords. HA!
