I’m Back B—–

In September a friend sent me an invite for a new internet radio service called Jango. I was pretty excited about being part of the uber-exclusive beta testing and spent the better part of two hours selecting my favorite songs and organizing play lists tailor made to my personal audio needs. I found all of my favorites and made sure to rate each and every song according to how often I wanted to hear it played. I was really impressed with the number of songs they had available for each artist and was pretty excited to use the secret new service.

As most secret internet beta tests go, the word on Jango was out in about a month, and pretty soon everyone was able to sign up and use the service. I would not have noticed this change, or even be mentioning it now if I had not noticed a difference in the way my gloriously constructed play list began working once the beans were spilled. It now seemed as if Jango had a mind of its own, playing my top rated songs all too frequently while throwing in the musical stylings of a rapper named Mims.

According to Wikipedia, Shawn Tapiwa Mims was born March 22, 1981 in Manhattan. At the age of twelve, his mother bought him a DJ system, which was very influential in his career in music. He got his first big break as opening act and hype man for Method Man, would be influential in Mims’ later career and Mims gives him a shout out in his album’s liner notes. His first single “This Is Why I’m Hot” received much airplay and became a worldwide hit.

I wrote the kind people at Jango numerous times asking why Mims continues to play on my expertly defined play list, but to date I have not received any response. My only option right now is to click the frown face located under the song title and skip through his garbage when it shows up on my screen. An experience last week leads me to believe that Mims is not going to be going anywhere any time soon – as soon as Jango loaded and started playing, the first lyrics I heard were “I’m Back B—-!” by my buddy Mims. Coincidence? I think not.

Did you misspell FINANCE deliberately? If so, WHY?

P.S. your page comes up “Sliced off”" on the left side.
