A Lair for Snickers

Yes, I have decided to name myself after my favorite candy bar of all time, and yes, I was set up with my own mini-lair this afternoon. Our Sunday started off with us missing McDonald’s breakfast (we literally were at the ordering speaker at 10:31) and being told off by an angry female McNasty’s employee, but has ended up quite nicely with me seated in front of my two workstations.

I now sit in front of my very own super-sized monitor and have the capability to move seamlessly with mouse and keyboard between the monitor connected to my Apple g5, lovingly named Skullfacetooth, and my iMac, Tuckenroe named after Tucker. I have so far spent about 15 minutes just moving the mouse from one PC to the other, and another 15 minutes staring at the screen saver on the g5 that gives the effect of a light wind or a small stone being thrown in a deep lake. It may sound absurd given my previous statement, but I really think I am going to increase my prodcutivity! Now I can work on my projects on my g5 and watch a movie, I mean do research, on the smaller iMac:)

So as I sit here and write this blog, I wonder what I will really do with another computer… I guess I could have my email client open on there and religiously check it every few minutes like a crazy person. I could use it to play music while I work on the g5, but couldn’t I just do it all on the g5 since it has roughly 150 GB? I could always set up a slideshow and play the 3,500 Flickr pictures I presently have… I really wish that one of the computers would go get my laundry out of the drier and fold it. I think I will have to get some advice from Butterfinger to maximize the potential of this overwhelming computing power.

It is going to take me awhile to adjust to being able to do so many computer-related tasks at once and I hope to one day look as elegant as Butterfinger while executing them. Welcome Skullfacetooth to our little household network, Tuckenroe and I look forward to harnessing your unbelievable intellect and speed. I know it was not a long move from down the hall, but I am sure you will get a lot more accomplished in your new location.
